Caribbean Cruise - 2007

Curacao

This is Willemstad, Curacao. A picturesque Dutch colonial town.

The Queen Juliana bridge is in the background--named for the Dutch queen. We walked across a level pontoon bridge, not that one, to get into town.

A very nice shopping mall was just off the pier where we docked. It was built within the walls of an old fort.

This gives a view of the enormous ship from the mall area.

There was a floating market in this town, which was most interesting -- the locals bought seafood and vegetables here.

A pause that refreshes--it was hot and humid. The buildings in the background are typical of the whole town.

We found this restaurant that was right on the ocean--and shady!
At the restaurant, we could see our ship docked in the background

In the afternoon we made our way to this beach, where a jetty kept the waters calm and the viewing for snorkelers good. It was a beautiful place.

The scenery was quite good at this beach, including several topless sunbathers.

Trace, Tracey and Ed out enjoying the views of the fish.
